This
fall American Visa rules are changing Earlier there was
no need to apply for a Visa if your country were a part
of the Visa Waiver Program and you planned a stay of
maxi-mum 3 months.
From October 1 you will need a machine-readable
passport to enter USA to avoid applying for a
visa.Security is being enhanced by using machine-
readable passports since they can be scanned at entry
and exit points to verify the integrity of the pass-port
data. Rapid and precise identi-fication of the traveller
are made much easier by using machine-readable passports
as well as it enable faster processing of travellers at
ports of entry. Border inspectors can do much of their
processing before a flight arrives, since the passports
provide advanced passenger information.
