Our
Iceland Travel Competition stopped taking new entries on
August 8, and we received a vast number of entries.
Thank you to all who entered our contest. We're very
pleased to announce the names of our winners. The Grand
prize winner will receive a round- trip airfare for two
with Iceland Express from London or Copenhagen, 1 week
hotel stay for two at 4* Grand Hotel in Reykjavik, incl.
breakfast, 1 week rental car from Hertz and 1 year FREE

you've planned this holiday for late summer or autumn,
you've juggled everyone's work and school schedules and
you now must choose from among countless tour packages,
sightseeing and resorts. With so many choices and even
more questions, anyone who's ever tried booking a
holiday knows how exhausting it can be.
The Internet can be a great help in planning and
booking your trip, i.e. providing detailed info on air
fares, destinations, local culture and customs, tourist
attractions, how to get there, etc. Researching info
helps you become better educated about the gamut of
travel products available. However, should you decide to
use the Internet for more than just research, here are a
few tips to avoid potential pitfalls of booking online:
Don't book online unless you've done your homework
and know what questions to ask and where to ask them.
Make sure you book the correct date and time, and check
that you get the advertised fare or the quoted price.
Beware of misleading promotions. Too-good-to-be- true
deals often come with the condition that you buy
additional airfare or accommodations at inflated prices.
Look for signs that sensitive information, such as
travel initiaries and credit-card numbers, is encrypted.
Two signs that a site is secure are a closed padlock
symbol at the bottom of your browser and a URL that
begins with "https".
Don't book with an online agency unless you know its
location and contact information, and make sure you
understand the site's cancellation policy prior to
making a purchase.
