The
Manorom
Thai
Restaurant
must
be
one
of
the
tiniest
restaurants
in
London,
with
only
about
thirty
seats;
even
from
the
outside
it
doesn't
exactly
stand
out,
blink
once
when
walking
past
and
you
would
probably
miss
it.
Despite
its
small
size
the
Manorom
delivers
a
very
consistent
standard
of
Thai
cooking,
and
at
an
extremely
sensible
price.
From
superb
typical
Thai
starters
like
Tom
Yam,
a
spicy
hot
and
sour
soup
with
chillies,
lemon
grass
and
lime
leaves
at
£4.00,
to
their
Kanom
Jeep,
steamed
dumplings
of
minced
pork,
£4.25.
Their
main
courses
and
wonderful
Thai
salads
are
mainly
between
£5
and
£8,
with
the
traditional
green
curry
of
chicken
or
beef
at
a
reasonable
£6.75.
They
also
boast
a
selection
of
four
noodle
dishes
including
the
ever-present
Phad
Thai
at
£5.50,
but
also
some
more
unusual
ones
like
Kuay
Teow
Phad
Si-Ewe,
fried
noodles
with
chicken,
pork
or
beef
in
dark
soya
sauce,
£5.00.
However,
if
you
are
really
looking
for
a
bargain,
then
their
set
lunch
at
£10.95
per
head
is
incredible
value,
and
exceedingly
filling:
a
choice
between
two
starters,
four
mains
accompanied
by
fried
mixed
vegetables
and
rice
or
noodles,
and
dessert.
In
the
evening
they
have
a
set
dinner
with
an
additional
course
for
£16. |

Singapore
airlines
launch
business
class
bed
|
|
This
month
Singapore
Airlines
launched
a
business
class
flat-bed
sleeper
seat
on
its
non-stop
service
between
London
and
Singapore.
The
new
'SpaceBed'
is
a
state-of-the-art
seat
that
reclines
into
what
the
airline
claims
is
the
biggest
business
class
lie-flat
bed
in
the
sky.
With
a
length
of
78
inches,
when
fully
extended,
and
width
27
inches,
when
both
armrests
are
fully
deployed
downwards,
the
SpaceBed
is
eight
inches
wider
than
any
existing
business
class
seat
or
bed
and
offers
total
comfort
for
passengers.
The
bed
is
forward-facing
and
has
moveable
dividers
and
a
fixed
backshell
to
give
added
privacy.
It
has
laptop
power
and
Singapore
Airlines'
new-generation
in-flight
entertainment
system,
KrisWorld,
offering
a
choice
of
40
movies
and
short
features
and
50
games
on
10.4-inch
(26.5cm)
high
resolution
monitors.
Eight
seats
have
been
removed
from
the
original
58-seat
configuration
in
the
Raffles
Class
section
of
the
Boeing
747-400
aircraft
to
create
space
for
a
50-seat
layout.
The
first
daily
flight
with
the
new
SpaceBed
took
off
from
Heathrow
on
June
2.
In
late
August
the
service
will
be
extended
to
a
second
daily
flight
and
by
mid-September,
all
three
daily
flights
between
London
and
Singapore
will
have
the
SpaceBed.
Thereafter
the
new
bed
will
be
introduced
progressively
on
connecting
services
from
Singapore
to
Sydney
and
Melbourne.

The
"True" Paradise on Earth I've
always thought that calling a place
"Paradise on Earth" was just a
little too hypey for me . . . at least
until I visited the Seychelles.
Seemingly forgotten out in the middle of
the Indian Ocean, a thousand miles from
Africa, this archipelago of more than a
hundred islands stretches for hundreds
of miles. The warm waters, high
standards and friendly people draw many
year after year to these Jewels in the
Ocean that are the Seychelles.
