Orlando Science Center (www.osc.org), where curious visitors can learn all about Florida’s ecosystem in a walk-through exhibit or turn oranges into juice in miniature KidsTown. The Science Center features interactive learning tools about Florida and beyond, a domed movie theatre and a planetarium.

The Orlando Museum of Art (www.omart.org), regarded as one of the best art museums in the South, houses a collection of African artisan work and an Ancient Americas exhibit featuring works from Mexico and Peru.  The museum’s American Collection contains paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculptures from the 19th century to the present, with key pieces from Georgia O’Keefe, Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns.

Gatorland ( www.gatorland.com)
Gatorland is Orlando's best half day attraction and theme park with alligator and animal shows, nature viewing and relaxing family fun.
Three exciting shows: Gator Jumparoo, Gator Wrestlin "cracker style", and Snakes of Florida. Over 5,000 gators and crocodiles. Smoked gator ribs and deep-fried gator nuggets are served daily at Pearl's Smokehouse.

SeaWorld Orlando is the world’s premiere marine adventure park with 200 acres of world-class shows, thrilling rides and unforgettable animal encounters. Includes the live water adventure, Baywatch at Sea World; the polar expedition, Wild Arctic, the Shamu: Close Up! killer whale breeding, research and observation facility; and other attractions and shows.

Air passengers travelling to America can expect cheap fares to be available on and around September 11. 

The dramatic fall in demand on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the US will almost certainly mean fare reductions for those prepared to travel.

While airlines have ruled out special discount campaigns, due to the sensitivity of the occasion, many conceded that tickets were likely to be cheaper than usual.

Airlines will not want to do anything that smacks of opportunism, so prices are not likely to be cut - but there will be more seats available at lower prices.

BA has cut 24 services to cities such as San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami and San Diego, two flights each to Boston and New York and three to Washington. Two Barbados flights have also been axed.

Virgin Atlantic has cancelled three flights to New York, Orlando and Los Angeles out of its daily total of 13, while Air France has cut two flights from Paris to Washington and New York.

Package holidays appear to have escaped the fall in demand. The Association of Travel Agents informs that September is a quieter month, and Wednesday - which September 11 falls on this year - is not a busy day for charter flights.
